There was someone walking late at night, an adult, and looked over at a field where there were several adults in bright silly costumes lying around and five children sitting happily in the field. Two had the buddings of a first romance, with the girl's kid brother sleeping by her side. Another little one was asleep next to one being quite carefree, chewing on a stick of bubblegum and blowing bubbles.. It was so adorable!
Little did the adult know the context. All the adults in bright silly costumes were still knocked out from the battle, and Numbuh .2 was quite traumatized.
"Spanked..by my own best friend..." shuddered David, twitching and spasming all over. Numbuh .3 had her hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, at least I knocked out Cuppa Joe. Or else you would've been spanked by him, too."
David shuddered even more. Numbuh .1 was knocked out, but was sleeping relatively peacefully leaning on Numbuh .3. Numbuh .4 was being held in place--not by bonds or ties or restraints.
"The popping sound continues to disrupt his concentration. He can't focus on Spankulot's commands if he can't concentrate." Ben popped another bubble gum bubble and grinned evilly. "Rainbow Monkeys, Rainbow Monkeys, oh so round and sooper chunky.."
"Oh red and orange," Numbuh .3 and eventually Numbuh .2 joined in, softly, but the happy carefree rhythm did lift his mood a little. It wasn't of their time, but all that time chasing Sector V around, of course they knew the song. "And pink and blue. Rainbow Monkeys, Rainbow Monkeys, we love you!"
