Changed the name so people know that I'm interpreting these shows through these lenses.

The lenses in my cases, are separate: so I have fanart of Black and other POC characters, and fanart of non-POC characters who are racially and/or ethnically ambiguous and also non-gender normative in some or many ways.

Blind spot 1: I'm a part-Black Asian settler on Indigenous land, so I don't face the struggles of fully Black people, Indigenous people, and even many Brown people. As a result, characters that I focus on are more racially ambiguous, classified as white when they're not, or are on the margins of whiteness. (I know race is a social construct, but are political-social-economic realities)

Blind spot 2: I heavily favor villains, so I salvage negative racial representations by reading them queerly or from the perspective of a villain---I realize I can only do this because I consider these representations salvageable in the first place, and others will have heightened racial sensitivity or are coming from a place of trauma will not consider them salvageable.

Blind spot 3: I draw mostly DMABs.
